Secrets

Everyone has a secret, and everyone else wants to know what it is.

Three shots fired; three shots missed. Did they think they had an easy target? That she’d die like so many had before? Well, they were wrong.

For some, the secret is simple; no harm done. For others…

She returned fire. Five shots, no misses. After all, she was one of the best. The column barely provided any shelter for her lithe body from the new wave of bullets.

…the consequences are disastrous, if not lethal.

Short black hair was quickly brushed aside with a frown and her .45 was readied for return fire. It was tedious, this fire fight. After being under the radar for seven years, you get accustomed to the peace.

But others, they try to lock away their secret; they try to forget it…
Seven long, wasted years, trying to discover who she was; trying to figure out who she was supposed to be.

…yet few succeed.

There were no memories, papers, relationships, or records for her to go by. To the country, it was as if she had never existed. At least, not outside of the agency she had left years ago. But then they had finally found her. A thought occurred to her.
She smiled.

The rest?

She sprinted from her column to the edge just a few yards in front of her as bullets whizzed by her. The river swirled below. The final shot rang out.

No one knows about them.

This will be continued in pieces. However, there is not a set update schedule as of yet.
